Alcohol & Addictions Resource Center Celebrates 57 Years

The Robert J. Firth Award will be presented to the Junior League of South Bend. The Junior League voted to fund the St. Joseph County Committee on Alcoholism for one year in 1970 and to provide eight volunteers to assist in development of a program. On July 1, 1970 the committee was officially incorporated as the Alcoholism Council, Inc. The Council was renamed the Alcohol & Addictions Resource Center in 1997. The award is named in honor of the late Bob Firth, former AARC Board President, member and long-time supporter of AARC.
The Joseph E. Hickey Award will be presented to Indiana Carton Company for their long standing commitment to AARC and the entire community.
The award is named for the late Joe Hickey, former AARC Board member and long-time supporter of AARC. Mr. Hickey was instrumental in helping to develop the first employee assistance program (EAP) in the state of Indiana for AARC.
