From Sharon Burden, Executive Director of the Alcohol & Addictions Resource Center:
September 30th will be my last day as the Executive Director of AARC. I have been with the organization since 1984 and never dreamed I would still be here 37+ years later. I thought it would be a great place to work for a couple years but it was far more than that.
I have been lucky to have great staff and board members over the years and I have learned so much from the individuals and families that have sought help through AARC. It has been a privilege to work at AARC and walking out on September 30th will be bittersweet.
The good news….effective October 1st, the leadership of the organization will be in the hands of Brian Mounts. Many of you know Brian as the Director of Prevention and Community Outreach at AARC. I am very pleased with the appointment of Brian as the Executive Director and believe the future is bright for AARC under Brian’s leadership. Brian and I will be working together to ensure a seamless transition for the agency. You may see both of us on occasion at meetings and events in the coming weeks and months. I'm certain you will all give Brian the same warm welcome that I have experienced over the years.
